Food Assistance Services

We provide food assistance to qualifying residents of Prince George’s County. Eligibility is based on household income.

Pantry Hours

Food distribution: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, 9–11 a.m.

Donation drop-off: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, 8–11 a.m.

Weather and Emergency Closings

The pantry follows Prince George’s County Public Schools for weather-related closures. When PGCPS closes due to inclement weather, the pantry is also closed for food distribution and donation drop-offs.

Your First Visit

First-time clients must schedule an appointment. Same-day appointments are available. Call 301-262-6765 to arrange your first visit.

Please bring:

  • A photo ID.
  • Current proof of Prince George’s County residency. If your ID does not show your current address, bring a piece of mail showing your name and current address.

At your first visit, you will receive an application to complete and return at your next visit, along with the required supporting documents.

Required Documents

To complete your application, please provide:

  • Current identification for all household members.
  • Proof of household income.
  • Proof of school enrollment for children in kindergarten through 12th grade.

The pantry can make copies of your documents if needed. Documents may also be submitted by email.

Ongoing Food Assistance

Once approved, households may receive food assistance once or twice a month. Visit frequency depends on household circumstances, including whether there are children under age 18 or senior citizens in the household, and where the household lives within Prince George’s County. Staff will explain your household’s pickup schedule.

What You Will Receive

Each household receives two prepacked grocery bags containing canned and dry goods, plus fresh produce, bread, and desserts when available.

How Pickup Works

We offer drive-up distribution. Clients remain in their vehicles while volunteers load their groceries.
